I came to Auroville in January 1995 and have been living here from then on.
I grew up in France and, from a young age, I was drawn to different cultures and lifestyles. As I grew up I studied languages and philosophy and was particularly attracted to the eastern part of the world. I could not understand our society with all its injustice and inequality, but I was more drawn to inner life and taking care of each other.
I heard about Auroville for the first time as a teenager, when one of my cousins who studied philosophy returned from India and was talking about a place he visited where people from all over the world were living together as a big family, offering their work to the community and striving for constant progress and learning. I don’t remember the exact words but something in me knew that this was the place where I belong and where I would go one day.
I’m convinced that Auroville is my home and my family. From the beginning, I have been working in services and teaching at the school. Everything here seems very natural to me, exchanging our skills and offering our service, the unending education, helping and supporting each other as well as developing my Inner Self. Every challenge is an opportunity to know myself better and to progress. I believe that The Mother has been guiding me at every step and I am doing my best at each moment to participate in the evolution of human consciousness. I am here as an instrument of the Divine. I am convinced that Auroville is a laboratory and that whatever has to be will be when the right time has come.
I am feeling blessed and extremely grateful for participating in this extraordinary adventure. I am also grateful for my children to be born and raised here and to be able to serve Auroville.
